Meet The Crew in Delaware
Gabe & Leslie Ligon
Gabe has been a life long animal enthusiast and has always dreamed of opening a preserve. After rehabilitating wildlife in a remote area of Costa Rica, he decided to make his dream into a reality. Leslie majored in animal science at Louisiana State University. While attending school, she worked at Wings of Hope, where she first met Gabe. Together they founded the Barn Hill Preserve. Gabe and Leslie are happily married and recently welcomed their first child, Avery Hart.
Josh is a graduate from Louisiana State University with a degree in Wildlife Ecology. He grew up in the small town of Bethany Beach on the eastern shores of Delaware. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 18 and was active until moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He worked under Dr. Mike Metzier as a Veterinarian Technician for four years where his love for animals took root. Josh’s love and understanding of wildlife continues to grow while working at the Barn Hill Animal Preserve.
Sean is from Louisiana and is a recent graduate from Louisiana State University with a degree in Wildlife Ecology. With his mother being a wildlife rehabilitator he was always working with native wildlife. Sean is an avid reptile enthusiast owning multiple species of snakes as well as other reptiles, he really enjoys educating the public on some really cool and misunderstood reptiles.
Sarah graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Marine Biology and a minor in Mathematics in 2017. Sarah grew up on a farm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, caring for horses, dogs, lizards, rabbits, fish, and more! Sarah worked at a kennel caring for dogs and cats for several years, developing her medical and animal behavior skills. She also spent 3 years completing collegiate biochemical research, before moving into research with sharks and stingrays. In her free time, Sarah enjoys playing volleyball and violin!
Kaitlin is a recent graduate from Louisiana State University with a degree in Conservation Biology. A native of Thibodaux, LA, Kaitlin grew up closely interacting with native wildlife. During college, she worked for a wildlife biologist assisting in many graduate research projects focusing on Eastern Wild Turkey, White-tail Deer, and American Woodcock. Post gradation, Kaitlin joined our team in order to gain experience working with exotic wildlife.
